The Cleveland Cavaliers are promoting Brandon Weems to General Manager under President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman, according to ESPN sources. Weems has spent the past decade with the organization, progressing through several scouting and personnel positions.

In 2022, Weems was promoted to assistant general manager, continuing his rise within the Cavaliers’ front office. He will now take over as GM, marking another step in a career built entirely within the Cleveland organization. Weems has worked closely with the franchise’s basketball operations department throughout his tenure and will now assume a larger role under Altman as the Cavaliers continue to shape their front-office structure.
