Concern has resurfaced for the Cleveland Cavaliers after Darius Garland left Monday’s 140-138 overtime loss to the Miami Heat with a left toe injury.
The two-time All-Star previously underwent surgery in June for the same issue. Coach Kenny Atkinson said Garland “tried to come back but just couldn’t continue” after taking a fall in the third quarter.
Garland had missed the Cavs’ first seven games of the season and was averaging 14 points in two appearances before re-injuring the toe. His status will be updated soon.
