Chris Finch expects LaMelo Ball to reshape parts of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ offensive identity. Speaking with the Minnesota Post, the coach nevertheless stressed that the offense will continue to flow primarily through Anthony Edwards.
“We have a chance to play faster, be a better passing team and maybe benefit more from off-ball movement,” Finch said. Ball could also create easier opportunities for Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels.
The new point guard arrives after averaging 20.1 points and 7.1 assists across 72 games with Charlotte. Finch will need to manage the team’s usage distribution, but views Ball as a facilitator capable of generating chances previously created largely through Mike Conley’s experience.
