The Dallas Wings center will miss the tournament in Berlin and China’s September 7 matchup against Italy

China will compete at the FIBA Women’s World Cup without Li Yueru. The Dallas Wings center announced that her passport was lost in the mail and has yet to be recovered.

“We worked hard together and explored every possible solution, but perhaps we were simply unlucky this time,” Li wrote in an Instagram story shared by ESPNW, while reaffirming her commitment to the Chinese national team.

China have been drawn into Group D alongside Italy, the United States and Czechia. Li will therefore be unavailable against the Italian national team on Monday, September 7, at 20:45.
