The Nigerian forward leaves Baskonia to sign with Sfairopoulos’s team in Belgrade

Chima Moneke is set to join Crvena Zvezda on a two-year contract, leaving Baskonia after two strong seasons. He’ll reunite with coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos and fellow ACB alum Tyson Carter.

The 29-year-old forward will reportedly earn €1.7M net per season. In 2024–25, Moneke averaged 14.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists, shooting 64.5% from two and 81.3% from the line in the EuroLeague.

After being named BCL MVP in 2022, Moneke played briefly in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings before moving to Monaco and then Baskonia. Now, he’s headed to Belgrade for a new challenge.
