The Chicago Bulls announced Jaden Ivey will miss at least the next two weeks due to left knee soreness. The 24-year-old guard was acquired from Detroit on Feb. 3 in a three-team deal and will be re-evaluated after a targeted stretch focused on rebuilding leg strength.
Coach Billy Donovan said Ivey hadn’t complained about soreness, but as his minutes climbed into the 30s early in his Bulls stint, the staff noticed he didn’t have his usual stop-start burst and overall explosiveness. After testing, Chicago’s medical staff concluded he needs to “get a lot stronger” to return to his prior athletic level.
The Bulls also confirmed Zach Collins will undergo season-ending surgery on his right toe. Collins appeared in 10 games this season, averaging 9.7 points and 5.6 rebounds, after missing time earlier with a broken bone in his hand before the toe issue surfaced in late December.
