Carsen Edwards has joined Virtus Segafredo Bologna, possibly turning down a richer offer to take on this new challenge.

Yesterday, 11 July 2025, Virtus Segafredo Bologna announced the arrival of Carsen Edwards. The transfer was completed unexpectedly, but Virtus Segafredo Bologna were not the only team interested in the former Bayern Munich player.

According to Sport5, Carsen Edwards turned down a higher offer from Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv; the Israeli club reportedly offered €1.5 million, but this was not enough to convince the player.

Edwards finished last season’s EuroLeague with an average of 20.3 points and 3.2 assists per game.
