Restricted free agent Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls are still far from reaching an agreement on a new contract. Giddey is aiming for a deal worth around $30 million per year, while Chicago hasn’t budged from offers averaging $20 million annually.
The Bulls’ first proposal was a four-year, $80 million contract, and they continue to stick to that figure.
Several NBA teams have shown interest in Giddey, but at the moment, only the Brooklyn Nets have the salary cap space to present him with a substantial offer. Other franchises are exploring potential sign-and-trade scenarios, yet Chicago has been hesitant to engage in such discussions. Rival teams also find it challenging to negotiate trades with the Bulls, as it’s unclear whether Chicago’s front office intends to move veteran players or strengthen the current roster.
