Buducnost keeps coach Mijovic

The coach remains in Montenegro

Buducnost VOLI Podgorica announced Sunday that Petar Mijovic will remain its head coach in the upcoming season. Mijovic, 41, took over Buducnost bench in the finish of last season, and guided the team to the Adriatic League semifinals and Montenegrin League title. He has a 9-11 coaching record in the EuroCup.

This is Mijovic’s third stint with the club. He coached Buducnost youth categories in 2017 and 2018, before being promoted to the first team, first as an assistant coach, then to head coach in April of 2019. Even though the club did not keep him as coach for the following season, he was already back on the bench in October 2019 and remained Buducnost head coach until leaving in January 2021. During those two stints he helped Buducnost win the Montenegrin League title in 2019 and lifted the Montenegrin Cup trophy in 2020.
