Brindisi president Marino says Adrian Banks chose Fortitudo: Gratitude does not exist in basketball

Nando Marino: Two years ago we signed a player that was almost at the end of his career and came from two ‘colorless’ seasons in Israel. We made him became the MVP and the top scorer of last Serie A season

Happy Casa Brindisi president Nando Marino confirmed what Sportando reported: Adrian Banks is joining Fortitudo Bologna on a two-year contract.

“Unfortunately Adrian Banks chose Fortitudo Bologna. We offered him a contract but when we sent him the proposal my closest collaborators told me I was crazy” Marino told Terzo Tempo Brindisi. “I tried to sign a ‘life pact’ with Adrian. To have him here in Brindisi for the remainder of his career. But in basketball gratitude does not exist. Two years ago we signed a player that was almost at the end of his career and came from two ‘colorless’ seasons in Israel. We made him became the MVP and the top scorer of last Serie A season. We had two wonderful seasons that will remain in our hearts and also in Adrian’s heart, I believe. The player and his family have chosen a new adventure in Bologna. We are sorry but we are going to start soon with a new project” Marino added. “We are disappointed because we offered him two years plus a third one guaranteed. I wish Adrian the best of luck”.
