Braxton Key has opened a debate over financial transparency in the EuroLeague, calling for player and coach salaries to be made public.
Key argued that knowing the figures would give fans valuable context when evaluating performances. He believes transparency would be even more important for players negotiating in a league without a traditional hard salary cap and with widely differing team budgets.
“You can’t negotiate your value if you don’t know the market,” Key wrote on X. He added that publishing salaries would generate more conversations, storylines and engagement, ultimately creating additional value for the EuroLeague.
