Brad Stevens says Celtics are ready to write a new chapter

Brad Stevens believes the Boston Celtics have moved beyond their previous chapter. Speaking at the introductory press conference for Paul George and Mike Conley, the general manager said the organization is ready to embrace a significantly reshaped roster.

Stevens compared the refurbished TD Garden court to a blank canvas: “Nobody has stepped on it, and now it’s this year’s team to write its own chapter.” His comments followed Boston’s first-round loss to Philadelphia and the offseason trade that sent Jaylen Brown to the 76ers.

George and Conley join a core led by Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and Payton Pritchard, with Mitchell Robinson also arriving during the offseason. “I really like this group,” Stevens concluded. “I really think this group will be good.”
