According to Brian Robb of MassLive, Neemias Queta is the frontrunner to become the new starting center for the Boston Celtics.
It will be a season of transition and new developments for the Celtics, and in Robb’s view, if the roster remains unchanged, the Portuguese center could end up as the starting five for the green-and-white franchise.
This would be a step forward for Queta, who has never actually been a full-time starter in any of his NBA seasons.
Alongside him, the other confirmed starters are Jaylen Brown and Derrick White. The leading candidates to fill the remaining spots in the 2024 NBA champions’ starting lineup are Payton Pritchard and Anfernee Simons on the perimeter, while among the big men, Sam Hauser and Georges Niang are in contention. Keep an eye also on the wildcard Josh Minott, who arrived from Minnesota.
