Joshua Kushner is expected to become the sole controlling shareholder, with Iger holding a minority stake

Bob Iger’s ownership role in the proposed sale of the Los Angeles Lakers will reportedly be smaller than initially suggested. According to the New York Post, Joshua Kushner is expected to become the franchise’s sole controlling shareholder.

Kushner would personally own at least 15% of the team, the minimum stake required by the NBA for a controlling owner. At a $12.5 billion valuation, that investment would be worth at least $1.875 billion.

Iger is still expected to become a minority owner and alternate governor while potentially overseeing the Lakers’ day-to-day management. The transaction remains subject to approval by the NBA Board of Governors.
