Tre’Shawn Thurman has earned MVP of the Round honors for the first time in his early BKT EuroCup career after guiding Wolves Vilnius to an improbable 90-88 comeback win against Besiktas Emlakjet Istanbul in Round 4 of the 2023-24 season.
Thurman finished with a game-high 31 points, of which 6 came in the final 10 seconds of the contest. En route to those 31 points, he went 8-of-9 on two-pointers and 4-of-6 from three-point range, while he made 3 of his 6 free throws. The Wolves forward also grabbed 7 rebounds, dished 1 assist, recorded 1 steal and drew 7 fouls en route to his round-leading 37 PIR. This was just the third EuroCup game for both Thurman and Wolves.
The second-highest PIR came from ratiopharm Ulm playmaker Georginho de Paula, who had a 36 PIR in his team’s 78-91 win at Turk Telekom Ankara. The Brazilian finished with a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double, in addition to having 5 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks and 3 fouls drawn. In third place is Marco Spissu, who amassed a 31 PIR after recording 24 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists in Umana Reyer Venice’s 79-64 win against Joventut Badalona. Braian Angola of Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv had a 30 PIR, the fourth-highest mark in Round 4, as he posted an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double, as well as 4 assists, in his side’s 72-111 victory at Veolia Towers Hamburg. Finally, fifth place is shared between Angel Delgado of Besiktas and Xavier Munford of Hapoel, both of whom had a 29 PIR. Delgado had 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block, while Munford amassed 22 points, 3 assists and 2 steals.
Round 2 Individual highs: Jacorey Williams, Buducnost, 15 rebounds
