Bill Simmons criticized Steve Ballmer and the Los Angeles Clippers following the NBA’s penalties for salary-cap violations. Ballmer was suspended for one year, while the franchise lost five first-round picks and received a $30 million fine.
“This was a phenomenal level of incompetence from Ballmer and the Clippers,” Simmons said on The Ringer. “I never thought the Clippers would find a new rock bottom, but I think they have.”
The Clippers rejected the investigation’s findings and announced plans to challenge the ruling and penalties through every available avenue, potentially setting up a lengthy dispute with the league.
