Ben McLemore received a 100-month prison sentence after being found guilty of rape and sexual assault in Oregon. The charges stemmed from a 2021 party at Robert Covington’s house in Lake Oswego.
Prosecutors stated the victim had been heavily drinking and partially regained consciousness while McLemore was sexually penetrating her and having intercourse. McLemore, 32, claimed he “never believed he was having sex without full consent.”
The former NBA guard last played in the league in 2022 before moving overseas. He spoke about “second chances” after sentencing, while prosecutors said the conviction sends a message that this conduct will not be tolerated in the community.
