Aleksander Sekulic and Umoja Gibson have shared their thoughts ahead of the EuroLeague matchup between Barcelona and Bayern Munich, highlighting the German side’s strengths and the importance of defense.
Aleksander Sekulic, Barcelona head coach
“Bayern has a really good team. They won two games away but they didn’t win at home, so they will try to do everything they can to win this game. They have two great shooters, [Duane] Washington and [Andi] Obst, who are shooting exceptionally well from the three-point line. I think it’s above 50%. We all know they are great shooters, so they are guarded very well. Shooting with these percentages speaks about their quality. Not only them; they have a team with experience in this competition, players who know how to adapt to different defenses, and offensively they have a lot of tools to score. It’s going to be important for us to do a good job on defense.”
Umoja Gibson, Barcelona guard
“[Bayern] is a high-level team, they’re a transition team, they play together as a unit. They’ve got more than capable players who can come out and light it up. We’ve just got to be us.”
