Baskonia have reportedly submitted an offer to Christian Koloko, the 26-year-old Cameroonian center recently waived by the New Orleans Pelicans. A move would mark the former Lakers big man’s first professional stint in Europe.
According to El Correo, as relayed by BasketNews, Baskonia have made a concrete move for Koloko following his entry into free agency. The 2.11-meter center had signed with New Orleans in July but did not make the final regular-season roster.
Koloko has played in the NBA for the Raptors, Lakers, Grizzlies and Hawks. In 2025-26, he appeared in 27 games across Los Angeles, Memphis and Atlanta, averaging 2.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 13.2 minutes.
Selected 33rd overall by Toronto in the 2022 NBA Draft, Koloko has played 122 NBA games in his career. Joining Baskonia would represent his first professional experience in European basketball.
