Baskonia bring back coach Velimir Perasovic on a two-year deal

The Croatian coach has agreed to a contract through 2028 and will take charge of the Basque club again on Friday, when Baskonia face Virtus Bologna in the EuroLeague.

“Kosner Baskonia and Velimir Perasovic have reached an agreement that will keep the Croatian coach at the club for the next two seasons. He will arrive in Vitoria-Gasteiz tomorrow and lead the team on Friday against Virtus Bologna.

Perasovic (Split, 1965) returns to the Baskonia bench, where he will remain through 2028. After coaching UNICS Kazan last season, he brings extensive experience in both the EuroLeague and Liga Endesa.

Having coached Baskonia in 253 games, Perasovic is the second coach with the most appearances in the club’s history and is set for his fourth spell in charge. During his previous tenures, Baskonia won one Copa del Rey and one Spanish Super Cup, while also reaching the EuroLeague Final Four in 2016.

Kosner Baskonia have therefore brought back an experienced coach with a strong connection to the club. Welcome, Velimir!”.
