Giorgos Bartzokas did not hide his disappointment over Thomas Walkup’s move from Olympiacos to Dubai Basketball: “He was extremely important to us and to me personally. It saddened me a lot.”
The coach would have preferred to continue the relationship built over the previous five seasons, during which Walkup became one of Olympiacos’ most important players and leaders.
Bartzokas nevertheless accepted the separation without bitterness: “There was this situation and it had to happen. In life, things happen when they have to happen.”
