Olympiacos won the fourth EuroLeague title in club history, and Georgios Bartzokas used his press conference to dedicate the trophy to a special person inside the organization: Kanella, described by the coach as an important member of the red-and-white family.
“Since all the journalists asked me how I feel, I feel good, but I would like to say two things. This is the players’ moment. I want to dedicate the cup to a loved one of ours, Kanella, a very important member of the club, a very strong person, and we wish her to be well,” Bartzokas said.
The Greek coach also extended the dedication to the owners, the players and the whole team: “I also dedicate it to the owners, who insist on loving the team so much. To the players and the entire team. This was the team that went 3/3 in the playoffs and broke the curse of the first place.”
Bartzokas closed with a special mention for the veterans who had come close several times before: “Especially the older players, including Fall, who came close to winning it five times, deserve it a little more.”
