According to Encestando, Barcelona now expects Xavi Pascual to leave, despite the coach having two more years on his contract. In the background is a major offer from Dubai BC, a club building a high-level roster with the 2027 Abu Dhabi Final Four in mind.
The Catalan club is therefore being forced to study the coaching market. The first two names mentioned are Vassilis Spanoulis, a high-profile international option, and Ibon Navarro, a less famous but highly qualified coach.
One factor to watch is Misko Raznatovic, agent of both Spanoulis and Navarro, who has already been in frequent contact with Barcelona over Josh Nebo, Oliver Nkamhoua and Nick Weiler-Babb.
