Barcelona have launched a major rebuild in an attempt to return to the top of European basketball. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club has already completed eight signings and nine departures, while Toko Shengelia’s exit to Dubai Basketball is still expected to become official.
The new project will be led by Aleksander Sekulic and built around a faster, more modern and more physical style of play. Justin Robinson and Umoja Gibson have joined the backcourt, while Agustín Ubal returns to the Palau after his season with Manresa. On the wings, former NBA players Stanley Umude and Tyrese Martin are expected to add athleticism, defensive versatility and physical impact.
The frontcourt is still not complete. Olivier Nkamhoua, Josh Nebo and Olek Balcerowski are already part of the new interior rotation, but Barcelona are still looking for a starting center after Moses Wright’s departure. Tosan Evbuomwan, recently named G League Finals MVP, is mentioned as a possible addition once Shengelia’s move is finalized.
