Barcelona are standing firm on Kevin Punter’s future. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club are not aware of the American guard wanting to trigger the exit clause included in his contract, which runs through 2028.
The issue comes during a far from normal summer for Barça, already marked by the exit of Moses Wright, who paid a €900,000 clause before even being officially presented and later joined Olimpia Milano, and Toko Shengelia’s intention to leave for Xavi Pascual’s Dubai Basketball. In this context, Barcelona moved to deny any possible Punter case.
Punter, who joined Barcelona in the summer of 2024 and later extended his deal through 2028, is considered a fundamental piece in Aleksander Sekulic’s project. After the departures of several major names, the former Partizan guard is likely among the highest-paid players on the roster and, barring changes, will remain one of the four holdovers from last season alongside Juan Núñez, Darío Brizuela and Joel Parra.
