Barcelona planning major overhaul: Wright, Nebo and Francisco on the list as season is “written off”
Seven contracts expiring and a possible Clyburn exit: the club is preparing up to eight new faces and a full rebuild in the frontcourt.
Barcelona are expected to look “very different” next season: the report notes seven players out of contract and an option to cut Will Clyburn, with the likelihood of eight incoming moves. The most urgent task is a complete frontcourt reshaping: only Shengelia would remain, and the club would need four additions inside.
At center, two names are described as being in negotiations: Moses Wright (contract ending at Zalgiris and listed as the main option) and Josh Nebo from Olimpia Milano, who reportedly holds a Slovenian passport and would not take a non-EU spot in ACB. Daniel Theis is also mentioned as a player being “offered”, with Monaco’s situation portrayed as unstable.
In the backcourt, the key target at point guard is Sylvain Francisco, who could leave Zalgiris but wants to explore NBA possibilities first, potentially delaying a decision until July — an issue for Barça, who are said to have a three-year offer on the table. On the wing, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot is liked, yet optimism is limited due to heavy competition, Baskonia’s right of first refusal, and tax considerations. Overall, the picture presented is that the current campaign is being treated as “written off”, with a budget increase promised for next season to boost competitiveness.
