Barcelona are close to reaching an agreement for Olek Balcerowski. According to Diario SUR, negotiations to release the player from his contract with Unicaja Malaga are at an advanced stage and could be completed in the coming days.
The Andalusian club is expected to receive financial compensation for the transfer, especially since Balcerowski recently signed a contract extension keeping him tied to Unicaja until 2028. It remains unclear whether Barcelona will choose to pay the full amount of the buyout clause or whether the two clubs will reach an alternative agreement.
Following Moses Wright’s departure, Barça are looking for a new big man to add to their rotation and have identified the Polish center as the right profile to complete the frontcourt. Another factor that makes Balcerowski an attractive target is his basketball development in Spain, a status that allows him to fit within the regulations of the Liga Endesa.
