FC Barcelona beat Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz 134-124 after three overtimes, powered by Kevin Punter’s 43 points — a career high and a new Barça scoring record.
Baskonia got 33 from Markus Howard and 26 from Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, but fell short in a historic marathon.
It was a night of records at Palau Blaugrana: Barcelona improved to 12-5, moved joint top, and extended its winning streak to five. Baskonia dropped to 6-11 after a crushing defeat, its 17th straight road loss. Alongside Punter, Tomas Satoransky delivered 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, while Willy Hernangomez and Will Clyburn scored 12 each (Clyburn left injured) and Dario Brizuela added 11.
The drama peaked late. Barcelona rallied from 13 down and grabbed a 97-94 lead in the final minute of regulation, but Howard hit a huge three to force overtime. Hernangomez free throws made it 106-106 after 45 minutes, then Baskonia surged ahead 107-116.
Punter refused to let it end, scoring 13 of Barcelona’s next 15 points to force a third overtime at 122-122. In the third extra period, Satoransky, Hernangomez and Punter powered a 12-0 run that sealed it — and the highest-scoring contest in EuroLeague history.
