The Atlanta Hawks announced that Henri Veesaar has torn the ACL in his right knee. He sustained the injury during a September 15 workout, with subsequent medical examinations confirming the diagnosis.
Veesaar is scheduled to undergo surgery in October at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex. According to the Hawks, he is expected to miss the entire 2026-27 season, delaying his NBA debut.
Atlanta selected the big man with the 52nd pick in the draft after a season at North Carolina in which he averaged 17.0 points and 8.7 rebounds. He added 10.2 points per game across five Summer League appearances.
