Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens suffered their second straight EuroLeague defeat, falling 74–87 at home to Olimpia Milano.
After previously pointing the finger at his power forwards following the Greek derby loss to Olympiacos Piraeus, head coach Ergin Ataman took a much harsher stance this time, criticizing the entire team.
“It was the worst game of the season,” Ataman told EuroLeague TV after the game. “We played terribly, and I congratulate Armani for winning this game without some of their starting lineup players. We played terribly. There is nothing to talk after this game. Congratulations to Milan.”
The loss drops Panathinaikos to a 12–8 record in EuroLeague play. PAO will have little time to dwell on the setback, as they are set to face Virtus Bologna on Thursday in an attempt to get back on track.
