Parker: “This is a difficult moment for us, but I want to reiterate our ambitions both domestically and in European competitions. This delay does not call our project into question; it is simply another step in its development”

As preparations continue for the 2026-27 season, LDLC ASVEL has announced a revision of its budget for the upcoming campaign. After months of work, the club and its shareholders have succeeded in putting together a new financial plan, which was approved by the DNCCG on July 29.

Although the final budget falls short of the club’s initial ambitions, it remains an important milestone in ASVEL’s long-term development. The revised financial plan will have an immediate impact on the team’s payroll at the start of the season.

Tony Parker addressed the situation with the following statement:

“For several years, and especially over the last few months, we have been working on an ambitious project for LDLC ASVEL. We held very advanced discussions that gave us hope of building a 2026-27 budget in line with our ambitions. Unfortunately, those discussions and agreements are taking longer than expected to be finalized, and this will have an immediate impact on our payroll at the beginning of the season.

This is a difficult moment for us, but I want to reiterate our ambitions both domestically and in European competitions. This delay does not call our project into question; it is simply another step in its development.

Several investors who had already committed to joining us have reaffirmed their confidence in the club. These processes take time, and we are working to finalize their involvement and collaboration with us so that we can maintain our objectives as part of the club’s long-term growth.”
