ASVEL’s turbulent offseason has taken another financial turn. According to Eurohoops, the French club owes approximately €1.2 million related to the 2025-26 season after its player spending fell below the minimum level required under EuroLeague’s Financial Stability and Fair Play Regulations.
Under the Competitive Balance Standards, the gap between ASVEL’s actual spending and the required Low Remuneration Level must be distributed among the players registered with the team last season. If the outstanding amount is not settled, ASVEL could be prevented from registering players and coaches for the 2026-27 EuroLeague season until it fulfills its obligations.
The issue adds further uncertainty to an offseason already marked by a major budget revision and the departure of Sylvain Francisco, who joined Panathinaikos. Tony Parker had previously acknowledged that the club would need to make roster decisions following the change in financial circumstances, while the futures of other summer signings remain unclear.
