AS Monaco Facing Financial Turmoil as Elie Okobo Reportedly Boycotts Game vs Paris

The financial situation at AS Monaco Basket has reportedly reached another critical stage.

According to L’Équipe, Élie Okobo has decided not to play in tomorrow’s Betclic Elite matchup against Paris Basketball in protest over unpaid April wages and other outstanding salary payments accumulated over recent months.

This is not the first sign of frustration from the French guard, who had already threatened to sit out the EuroLeague playoff series against Olympiacos before eventually being convinced by teammates to play.

Monaco will also be without suspended star Mike James, as well as injured players Daniel Theis, Alpha Diallo, and Nikola Mirotic for tomorrow’s game.
