Aris Thessaloniki makes big moves: Shavon Shields targeted, Matt Morgan close

Aris Thessaloniki, led by Vassilis Spanoulis, is making an ambitious push on the market, targeting Shavon Shields and moving closer to Matt Morgan

Aris Thessaloniki is emerging as one of the most active clubs on the market. According to Massimo Pisa of Repubblica-Milano, Shavon Shields appears close to leaving Olimpia Milano after six seasons. When a fan shouted “Renew!”, Shields reportedly replied: “Thank you for everything, Milan.”

Aris has reportedly offered Shields more than €8 million over three years. RealOlimpiaMilano also confirms the Greek club’s strong pursuit, with Olimpia Milano not expected to match that kind of proposal.

Aris is also closing in on Matt Morgan, according to Il Resto del Carlino Imola. The Virtus Bologna guard, whose contract expires on June 30, has reportedly received a two-year offer worth around €2 million total to join Spanoulis in Thessaloniki. Virtus is also expected to lose Carsen Edwards to Zalgiris, while Alen Smailagic is also on his way out.
