Anwil sign Shaq Buchanan to strengthen the backcourt

The Polish club have added Shaq Buchanan for the rest of the season

Anwil have officially signed Shaq Buchanan, a 190 cm American guard, through the end of the 2025/26 season. The player, who has spent the last few years in Israel, Greece and Lithuania, brings international experience and athleticism to the Polish team’s perimeter rotation.

Buchanan spent the latest part of this season with Elitzur Netanya in Israel, where he averaged 11.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 16 games. However, he is mainly described as a defensive specialist on the perimeter, a player who brings energy, pressure and intensity more than pure scoring volume.

Coach Ronen Ginzburg said: “Shaq Buchanan is the type of player who can give the team what the coach expects. He has strong defensive tools, and here he has to bring athleticism, commitment and energy on the defensive end”. Club president Łukasz Pszczółkowski also underlined the move: “This is our final signing of the season, and I expect that, also thanks to Shaq Buchanan, the team will start playing up to our expectations in the final stretch of the regular season”.
