ASVEL edged Efes 91-88 on Friday night, leading most of the way and holding firm despite never going up by more than eight in the second half. The visitors absorbed a late push and executed down the stretch to close it out.
Braian Angola delivered a personal-best 26 points to headline the win, with Zac Seljaas adding 15 and Thomas Heurtel posting 14 points and seven assists. ASVEL’s balance and composure late were enough to protect a narrow margin.
Efes’ comeback was fueled by Sehmus Hazer, who hit a career-high 20 points, while Saben Lee posted 18 points, five rebounds and four assists and Rolands Smits scored 12 in defeat. The result leaves ASVEL at 8-22 and Efes at 9-21.
