After a chaotic Game 2 of the Greek Finals between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, club presidents Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos issued a fierce statement against Dimitris Giannakopoulos, accusing the Panathinaikos owner of obscene gestures and personal insults.
“Let’s start with the facts. What happened today has never happened before. As soon as he sat down, Giannakopoulos began flipping us off, me and Panagiotis. He did the same thing in Abu Dhabi,” Giorgos Angelopoulos said.
“He also said if he gets his hands on my daughter, he’ll do things to her while I just watch. Nikos Leventiotis is a witness. That’s who Giannakopoulos really is — a disgusting person. Let Panathinaikos fans enjoy him,” he added.
The controversy adds even more tension to an already explosive series.
