Andrey Vatutin: I wouldn’t say we have the strongest roster ever, it’s not true

Cska president Andrey Vatutin: There are teams in Euroleague that, on paper, stronger and more diverse. But we’ll fight

Cska president Andrey Vatutin talked with russian journalist Artem Komarov.

ON SPONSORS

«Thanks to our sponsors, most of them fulfilled the obligations and continued working with us. Coronavirus pandemic and ecological catastrophe in Norilsk forced our owner Norilsky Nikel cut expenses on CSKA. But we understand the situation».

ON THE ROSTER

«The campaign was imperfect. For the first time in many years we don’t have depth we used to, we’re really vulnerable un terms of possible injuries. But anyway, it’s better than signing players being uncertain with money».

ON THE NEXT SEASON

«I wouldn’t say we have the strongest roster ever, it’s not true. There are teams in Euroleague that, on paper, stronger and more diverse. But we’ll fight».

ON CHARTER FLIGHTS

«We hope that Aeroflot will come back to the sponsorship. Now with every away game we’re looking for the best way. We’ll have charter flights to get to the places where otherwise we can’t go with comfort. In other cases, we’ll consider regular flights, too»

ON THE ARENA

«We’ve been thinking a lot and came to the view that we’ll use Megasport Arena for our home EuroLeague games. It’s more expensive but we want more people to witness our games. In Megasport, we can gather up to 7 thousand people even with restrictions».
