Andrea Trinchieri was a guest on Luca Chiabotti’s ‘Uomini e Canestri’ column in Repubblica-Milano. Here are some of his statements.

ON THE FUTURE

“There are some teams that have been very nice to look for me…. But I’m not waiting for something, in the sense that it’s just around the corner, even though I know I’ll be back doing my job. Coaching remains my core business, but I’m enjoying this time off very much. It will also make me a better coach.

ON OLIMPIA

“Olimpia comes out very refreshed from the last ten days because it beat Virtus in the challenge that could have put it in an absolute negative vortex. Then it won in Barcelona with a high quality performance and in total emergency, a success that, if it doesn’t taste like a relaunch, because the classification remains that one, it says that with a couple of other shots like that, it can still play everything in the second round”.

ON VIRTUS BOLOGNA

“Only the Reai can make it, the Euroleague squeezes everything out of you. Such a calendar does not seem sustainable, but no one wants to renounce either the highest expression of basketball or snub the championship of their own country, even if it happens that the disparity of commitment makes the results a bit fake. In my ideal world, I would play the two events at different times’.
