Anadolu Efes Istanbul has officially announced the arrival of David Mutaf, a player who grew up in the Fenerbahce youth system and has experience in the NCAA. The parties have agreed on a two-year contract, as per the official statement from the Turkish club.
The statement: “The player, born in 2002, is 1.97 meters tall and plays as a guard/forward.
Raised in the Fenerbahçe Beko youth system, David Mutaf played for Minnesota University, an NCAA team, in 2020. A year later, Mutaf joined the Spanish team Gran Canaria, where he played for the second team in his first season and the first team in his second. The young player then moved to Bursaspor Yörsan in August 2023.
David Mutaf, who won the Eurocup title with Gran Canaria in the 2022-23 season, finished third with our U16 national team at the European Basketball Championships held in Serbia in 2018.
David Mutaf played six games in the Europe Cup this season, averaging 24:09 minutes per game, 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.
The young player has played 30 games in the Türkiye Sigorta Basketbol Süper Ligi, averaging 25:50 minutes per game, scoring an average of 12.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
As is well known, David Mutaf’s older brother, Can Maxim Mutaf, also played for our team in the 2016-17 season.
