Alperen Sengun explained why he decided to delete Twitter. The Houston Rockets big man said criticism from fans, especially after losses, became mentally draining.
“When we lost games, everyone looking from the outside tried to attack us and find any small thing they could pick on. They tried to pit us against each other. Attacking me through the coach,” Sengun said, according to Legion Hoops.
The Turkish center described Twitter as “a dangerous place,” saying it can drain a person mentally and make them question things that are not real. For Sengun, stepping away from the platform was a way to protect his focus, balance and peace of mind.
