Promising French big man Alex Sarr, now in his second season with the Washington Wizards, shared his thoughts after a standout performance against the Philadelphia 76ers — 31 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, shooting 13-for-23 from the field and 2-for-2 from the line:
“We knew it was going to be a tough test against Embiid, but we prepared at our best — we wanted to show we can compete with anyone. I worked a lot on my physicality this summer, and now I feel ready to go at the strongest big men. I saw that I can be aggressive and really make an impact even against the best.”
Sarr emphasized the value of hard work for a young and talented Wizards team:
“We’ve got a lot of talent in this group. We know there’s still so much to learn, but the mindset is right. I’m getting more comfortable taking responsibility with the ball and also helping as a playmaker — my teammates trust me.”
Despite his young age, Sarr has already emerged as one of the team’s leaders:
“I always try to stay positive and bring a lot of energy to the floor. I played well tonight, but our real goal is to keep improving game by game — if we keep this up, everyone will have the chance to shine.”
