Alex Mumbrù is the new head coach of Virtus Bologna. According to *La Repubblica Bologna*, the coach signed a two-year contract worth 850,000 euros on Tuesday.
The coach will lead Virtus while also retaining his position with the world champion German national team. After a brief stop in Bologna, Mumbrù flew to Berlin to finalize the paperwork with the German Basketball Federation and clear the way for the announcement of his dual role.
Virtus’s roster will now be finalized with the new coach’s input, particularly regarding players for the guard and power forward positions. In the background, the ownership issue remains: Massimo Zanetti is seeking a partner, while the EuroLeague is reported to have asked Virtus to surrender its perpetual license.
