Balkan Botevgrad have announced the signing of Alex Ducas, with the Australian wing set to add shooting, athleticism and international experience to the Bulgarian club.
Ducas became an NBA champion with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2025, becoming the ninth Australian-born player to win an NBA championship. During the 2024-25 season, he appeared in 21 NBA games for OKC, averaging 1.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.

A strong college career at Saint Mary’s
Before reaching the NBA, Ducas spent five seasons at Saint Mary’s, where he developed into a reliable perimeter shooter.
He finished his college career averaging 9.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game, while shooting 40.6% from three-point range.
After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, Ducas signed a two-way contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder and eventually became part of the franchise’s championship-winning roster.
A new chapter in Bulgaria
Following his stint with the Brisbane Bullets in the NBL, Ducas is now heading to Bulgaria for a new European challenge with Balkan Botevgrad.
The club will count on his shooting ability, athleticism and experience as it prepares for a historic BKT EuroCup debut.
