Alessandro Pajola has said goodbye to Virtus Bologna with a long message posted on Instagram. The Italian guard addressed the past few weeks, rejecting the reports about him and stressing his desire to move forward “with head held high and a clear conscience.”
Pajola thanked the fans, coaches, medical staff, teammates and the Zanetti family, while also remembering Alberto Bucci: “He believed in me from the first day he saw me and taught me to put Virtus’ good before my own personal good.”
His final words were the most emotional: “In Bologna I built much more than a sports career: I built a fundamental part of my life, as a man before being an athlete.” He closed the post with: “I love you. Pajo.”
