ALBA Berlin beat BMA365 Bamberg Baskets 85-71: Jack Kayil led the way with 17 points and 6 assists. For Bamberg, Cobe Williams scored 14 points but shot just 5-for-14 from the field.
Berlin built the win in the first half, taking a 46-38 lead after Martin Hermannsson’s buzzer-beating three. In the third quarter, Hermannsson also set up Moses Wood for the three-pointer that made it 75-55, ALBA’s first 20-point lead.
Defense remained the difference for ALBA, which once again controlled one of the best offenses of the regular season. Bamberg struggled on the perimeter, while Kayil, Michael Rataj, Malte Delow, Sam Griesel and Jonas Mattisseck highlighted Berlin’s depth on the German spots.
The series now moves to Bamberg, where the Baskets must win on Thursday at 20:30 to keep their Finals hopes alive. ALBA, up 2-0, will have its first chance to close the series.
