Canadian guard/forward A. J. Lawson, who also holds a Jamaican passport, is the newest player of Kosner Baskonia, signing a contract for the next two seasons.
The 26-year-old, 2.00-meter wing arrives in Vitoria-Gasteiz following valuable NBA experience, where he has played 107 regular-season games.
Lawson developed his game at the University of South Carolina with the South Carolina Gamecocks before making the jump to the NBA G League in the 2020–21 season with the College Park Skyhawks. He made his NBA debut with the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2021–22 campaign and later spent time with the Dallas Mavericks. Over the last two seasons, he has been part of the Toronto Raptors organization.
During the most recent season, combining his NBA and G League appearances, Lawson averaged 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and a 12.4 efficiency rating.
With Lawson’s arrival, Baskonia adds a dynamic, energetic scorer to its roster for the next two seasons.
