AEK Athens has officially announced its first signing ahead of the 2026-27 season, adding Nelly Junior Joseph on a two-year contract through the summer of 2028.
The 24-year-old Nigerian forward/center joins from Strasbourg, where he established himself as the top rebounder in the French league last season.
Joseph averaged 12.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.8 blocks over 34 league games, while shooting 61.9% from two-point range.
Head coach Dragan Sakota identified him as the club’s new starting center, although the 2.06-meter big man can also play power forward. Before turning pro in France, Joseph spent five NCAA seasons with Iona and New Mexico.
