The NBA continues to move forward with its NBA Europe plans, with further updates expected in the coming weeks. Following the Board of Governors meeting in New York, commissioner Adam Silver described the project as a historic opportunity to build on Europe’s basketball tradition while confirming progress in discussions with EuroLeague.
“We are continuing to make progress. We are making progress in discussions with the EuroLeague, and we anticipate that over the next several weeks we will have additional announcements,” Silver said.
The project aims to create an NBA-style European competition combining new and existing clubs, building on the tradition of EuroLeague and domestic leagues across the continent.
