Jacob Tobey is returning as the San Antonio Spurs’ play-by-play announcer. His comeback comes less than two months after he stepped away from the position following allegations involving his personal life.
“I thank the Spurs for allowing me time to step away to sort out issues in my personal life,” Tobey wrote on X. He acknowledged that he will need to regain the trust of the organization and the San Antonio community.
The decision to remove Tobey had drawn criticism from Colin Cowherd and former Spurs player Danny Green, among others. Tobey will now resume his role calling the team’s games.
